Information we may collect

The marketplace may collect information users provide or generate through use of the service, including account and contact details, shipping and billing information, seller information, listings, bids, purchases, donations, communications, tax-exemption documentation, preferences, fraud/security signals, and technical records reasonably necessary to operate the marketplace.

Payment information

Payment transactions may be processed by an authorized payment provider. Hope For Paws Foundation should avoid storing full payment-card numbers when the provider's hosted or tokenized payment process is used.

How information may be used

Information may be used to provide marketplace services; process transactions; administer auctions, orders, shipping, refunds, seller obligations, and donations; communicate with users; prevent fraud and abuse; maintain records; improve operations; and meet legal, accounting, tax, nonprofit, and security responsibilities.

Service providers

Information may be shared with service providers that perform functions such as payment processing, tax calculation, shipping, hosting, email, SMS, analytics, security, accounting, or other marketplace operations, subject to applicable agreements and law.

Sellers and transaction participants

Information reasonably necessary to fulfill an order or resolve a transaction may be shared with the applicable seller, buyer, carrier, processor, or other participant. The marketplace should not disclose more information than reasonably necessary for that purpose.

Legal and safety disclosures

Information may be preserved or disclosed when reasonably believed necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce marketplace rules, or protect Hope For Paws Foundation and marketplace users.

Retention

Records may be retained as reasonably necessary for transactions, accounting, tax, nonprofit operations, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, security, and legal compliance. Different record types may have different retention periods.

Security

Hope For Paws Foundation may use administrative, technical, and operational safeguards appropriate to the marketplace. No internet service can promise absolute security, and this policy does not guarantee that unauthorized access can never occur.

User choices

Users may be able to update account information and communication preferences through account controls. Requests concerning personal information may be submitted through the Foundation's published contact methods and will be handled subject to identity verification and applicable law.

Children

The marketplace is intended for users who are legally able to enter the applicable transactions. It is not intended to knowingly solicit personal information from children in a manner prohibited by law.
