Hope For Paws Foundation Marketplace · Working Draft

Draft for pre-launch use. This language is intended to describe marketplace practices without guaranteeing outcomes outside Hope For Paws Foundation's control. It should receive final legal, tax, accounting, and operational review before public launch.

Accepted payment methods

Customers should use only the payment methods displayed through the marketplace's authorized checkout process. Hope For Paws Foundation does not request full payment-card numbers by ordinary email, text message, or social-media message.

Authorization and completion

A submitted payment may be subject to authorization, fraud screening, processor review, or other validation. An order is not treated as finally paid merely because a customer attempted payment; the marketplace's payment record controls.

Auction payments

Unless a different deadline is displayed, auction winners should complete payment within 48 hours of the winner notice. Unpaid auction orders may be cancelled and may lead to relisting, account restrictions, or other action described in the Auction Rules.

Taxes

Applicable sales or similar transaction taxes may be calculated based on the transaction, delivery information, exemption status, and jurisdictions in which collection is required. Tax-exempt treatment is subject to approval of the applicable exemption documentation and system status; submitting a request does not by itself make a transaction exempt.

Shipping and other charges

Shipping, taxes, discounts, merchandise charges, and voluntary contributions should be displayed separately where applicable. Customers should review the final checkout amount before submitting payment.

Voluntary contributions

Round-up or other optional contributions are voluntary and are intended to be recorded separately from merchandise, shipping, and sales tax. No statement on the marketplace should be treated as a promise that a particular payment is tax deductible. Donors should rely on the Foundation's approved receipt language and their own tax advisers for their circumstances.

Failed, reversed, or disputed payments

Failed authorizations, reversals, chargebacks, disputes, or suspected unauthorized payments may cause an order to be placed on hold, cancelled, reviewed, or otherwise handled according to applicable provider procedures and law.

Refunds

Approved refunds are generally submitted to the original payment method. Processing and posting time may depend on third-party financial institutions and is not guaranteed by Hope For Paws Foundation.

Hope For Paws Foundation may update this draft as marketplace operations, service providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes should be posted before they apply prospectively.
